Why you should never, EVER consider buying dupes or fake perfumes

If you're a perfume junkie like I am, curiosity becomes your frenemy. Sure it’s fun smelling all there is out there and be surprised with all the possibilities of smell perfume offers you. But sometimes you just got too caught up with the reviews and well, you either buy blind them or get their cheap dupes or fakes! I've been there to be honest and I am not proud! If I could give you any advice is, DON'T buy the dupes! Even if the bottles look dazzling, you're curious bla-bla-bla, just don’t.

Based on personal experience, having around 8 bottles (most of them are 100ml) perfume dupes, make a great room decoration, but that’s all there is to it! Do I wear them? Only a few times after I buy them, but as long as I can remember I’ve let them sit on my vanity for as long as they can. Why don’t I just wear them? Good question! 1. They don’t last, 2. They don't smell like the original (of course they don’t), 3. It never feels the same like wearing the original ones, 4. My original perfumes needs more love, why not wear them? They last and I feel more secure wearing them. 8 bottles of dupes? What was I thinking, right? Again, I am not proud. I think was in love with the bottles I guess, since I knew that there is no way, NO WAY that dupes are satisfying. Oh, my instincts were right!

There was this one time I bought a dupe and I was so disappointed with it, that I then actually bought the original one. Imagine with all those dupes I can probably get one or two decent original ones! Even if you blindly bought an original perfume and you don’t like it, you can always garage sale them or swap them with somebody. Dupes? Oh come on! Does anyone wanna buy secondhand dupes? I’d rather get secondhand originals imho. Dupes… I don't even think they make a great investment ;)

So instead of getting dupes, might as well save it for the original or for other things (for crying out loud!). Again I’d like to emphasize on the importance of testing, which could save you a lot money and save you from possible disappointments! And sometimes this question helps "Do you really really really desperately need another one? No you don't! Let's move it!" Be a smart and wise buyer/spender people ;)

12 Hours to 2017

Dear reader, I suppose 2016 for me, is one of those years that I will cherish forever. The hard work from previous years finally paid off. And yes, every bits of hard work will pay off at the end. I'm still a believer in that to this day.
